Golf Course Design
Lindsay Bruce Ervin, Inc. believes that successful golf
course design can be picturesque, playable, affordable and profitable.
With this vision guiding our way, Lindsay Bruce Ervin, Inc. has been providing
quality golf course design services since 1979. In June 2002 the company
name was changed from Lindsay Ervin & Associates to Lindsay Bruce
Ervin, Inc. to reflect Lindsays Scottish heritage and his desire
to design golf courses with the least disruption to the natural environment
as was done in the early days of golf course architecture in Scotland.
Our objective is to produce a golf course that is beautiful, fair, challenging,
fun to play for all golfers and sensitive to the sites historic
and environmental values while remaining profitable for the owner.
Lindsay Bruce Ervin, Inc. designs golf courses in which
even ordinary sites are transformed into award winning courses that stand
out among the best in the nation. For example, a treeless open farm on
Marylands eastern shore was transformed into a beautiful 18-hole
course that has gained national acclaim. We are technical masters who
understand soils, plant life and the conservation of natural features.
No matter what the topography of your site, the result will be an exciting,
original design capturing the beauty of the land.
Our strength has been the quality of the finished golf courses
we design. A limited number of projects are completed each year and every
one reflects our quality design services. Since 1979 we have been involved
in approximately 75 golf course projects providing a variety of consulting
services. Golf Digests 2002 Places to Play has rated
all of Lindsay Bruce Ervins 18-hole public access golf courses from
3 1/2 to 4 stars with 5 stars being the highest rating for a golf course.
Only 12 golf courses in the United States, Canada and Mexico have received
a 5 star rating.
